Generalissimo Francisco Franco and this blog

Remember the old bit from Saturday Night Live about Spanish dictator Francisco Franco? I do, but, then again, I’m old. If you don’t, see here.

__________

Just like other old men suffering from erectile dysfunction, on January 1, 2014, I decided to quit trying rather than looking for a magic pill. So, I shut down this blog. Comments were to remain active for seven days, and then quit as well. I intend to maintain the blog on life support as an archive. After hearing that, Joan, my wife, asked whether that was my homage to myself. What a bitch.

__________

Several months later I imagined the Generalissimo rose again and so I decided this blog should follow his lead.

(This page was edited and changed on July 13, 2014. The paragraph in the middle–“Just like . . .” was not altered from the original.)

  1. Nothing is deader than Generalissimo Francisco Franco and that is a good thing.

However, it is a pity that this blog comes so close to giving the late Generalissimo a run for his (former?) money. I have just started to look at this blog and enjoy it. May I suggest that you consider finding a receptive blog where you can post from time to time as the spirit moves you and note the location.

  3. May I suggest Cannabis Oil, such as Rick Simpson Oil. It’s helped other cancer suffers and there are numerous Generalissimo who are no longer at Parade Rest!

  5. I blog often and I really thank you for your information.
The article has really peaked my interest. I will book mark your blog and keep checking for new
information about once a week. I subscribed to your Feed
    too.

  6. When I originally commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are added”
checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get four e-mails with the same comment.
Is there any way you can remove people from that service?

    Bless you!

  7. Dear How Long . . .,

It is not expensive. My cost per year runs around $100 and I pay to WordPress yearly. I own the domain so there is a small annual registration fee to maintain ownership that I pay to WordPress and they pay the domain registration folks.. Then you can use a “premium” theme (the way the blog logs to the reader) and I think that cost me a one time payment of $100, but I could have used a free theme. So, the start up and annual costs are pretty small.

There are platforms other than WordPress. You can research them on the web as I did. See, for example, Blogger and Typepad. WordPress appears to be most complicated, but if I can use it, anybody can.

So, do a little due diligence and then start, albeit slowly. You can do it!

    All the best.

  8. Judge,
I fear you may have missed a spammer, notice the linked url. Anyhow thanks for the thoughtful and thought provoking blog.

  9. This is the right website for anyone who would like to understand this topic.

You understand so much its almost tough to argue with you (not thwt I
personally will need to…HaHa). You definitely put a brand new spin on a
subject which has been written about for years.
    Great stuff, just great!
